Arnie's On Cruise Night

http://www.arniesplace.com/

We have been regulars at the cruise night at Arnie's for about 5 years now. Until this year when you sign your car in, and donate a dollar to the Friends program, you get a ticket for a free drink from Arnie's. This year you get free food. Arnie would like to help people afford to come to the cruise, since most of the cars that are in attendance are not exactly fuel sippers.

My husband and I were excited about this new change and decided to get dinner. The inside of Arnie's is a bit eclectic. It's dining room is quaint. There are old signs from all over NH. There is interesting lighting, that is modern with a retro twist. There are thank you notes from kids and schools that are fun to read. There is also a space dedicated to the Lone Wolf Cruisers, who hold a cruise night there every Tuesday night. It's always clean and comfortable.

I ordered a hot dog with ketchup, relish and mustard with a side of potato salad. My husband ordered a cheese burger with ketchup and fries. We ordered 2 medium drinks as well. The kitchen was quite busy with all of the cruise night attendants, all usually named Bob, Dave or Dick, for some reason.

They call your name to come pick up your food. They have a variety of condiments near the pick up counter that you can add to your meal. My hot dog was just right. They toasted the bun to perfection. The condiments that they added were just right for me. The potato salad was so teeny tiny :( It's really good too. I wish they gave good portions of their sides!! Jeff's cheeseburger was good sized, not like take out from the chain restaurants. You can tell it's real meat. Again the side was very small. The drinks were mediums for Arnie's, which are smalls for most restaurants.

Arnie's does have good food, way better than their ice cream. The size of the portions for the sides are ridiculously small. The side dishes are really great, but you only get about 3 bites of potato salad and about 8 fries. The sizes of the drinks and sides need to be much larger. The bill only came to 6$ with the car show promotion for drivers. I will give Arnie's 2 stars out of 5 for this trip.
