Common Man in Concord, NH

http://www.thecman.com/

My principal wanted to reward the Instructional Leadership Team for all of our hard work so she treated us to dinner at the Common Man in Concord, NH. I believe the upstairs has added a second bar behind the one that had been there. We all sat at the original bar and got a drink. I just ordered a couple of waters because I had to leave early for class. The bartender was nice, but my drink as well as the area around the bar, had fruit flies. They had their free cheese and cracker display. I love the cottage cheese dip they make! I think it may be cottage cheese and cocktail sauce with horseradish in it. The other spread is also very good. It's a soft cheese with garlic and other spices in it.

When our room was ready we went into a quaint space with a rustic table set up. The menu was chosen for us with choices for appetizers, a main course and dessert. I had to leave after about 40 minutes after we sat down so I ordered a salad and crab cakes.

The salad was very good with crumbled cheese, walnut pieces and the fancy salad blend. The dressing was just right. The crab cakes were also very good. They had just the right crab taste, not too fishy. They were good sized as well. The sauce they put on top is delicious as well. There just isn't enough though. I had to leave right after I ate so I didn't get to choose a dessert.

My meal during this visit was better than I have had in the past. I would give them 3.5 stars out of 5.
